Kraal Cay (Crawl Cay) - Best place to take pictures in Bocas del Toro. Its natural beauty is nearly untouched, bright, serene, memorable indeed. There are many thatch roofed gazebo's connected by wooden piers running out over the flat, clear waters. Many day tours stop off for lunch at Kraal Cay. Most people order their meal, then snorkel, swim or explore and come back around 1 PM to eat. Menu items include fresh lobster, turtle, chicken, fish, conch, shrimp, rice and potatoes. Crawl Cay is about 20 minutes by boat from Bocas town, on the southeastern side of the main Bastimentos Island.

The mangroves that surround the islands house many tropical fish species. In front of the restaurants you can snorkel and see angelfish, sea cucumbers, hard coral, and lots of colorful fish. These restaurants have underwater pens where they keep live catches so you can actually see up close, the next menu item.

Kraal Cay is a great spot to spend the entire day at if you have the time. Lots of shade, cool breezes, unhurried atmosphere, with the outdoor eateries and view make this a truly memorable experience. Bring your appetite, camera and snorkel and enjoy a day like none other. If you come to Bocas del Toro and don't visit Kraal Cay, you've made a mistake.
